Okay, our next class is April 04, 2024 and I want the poem that each student will recite by then.
Find the link for posting your poem below the jump (click where it says 'Czytaj więcej').
Have a great Easter and see you back in class on April 04!

For this week you'll need two things.
Here's the first thing: It is a renamed version of something already uploaded. We'll be working with phonemic transcription.
Here's the second thing: Another poem, this not as dystopian as last week's.
Hopefully some people will have chosen poems and we can discuss that.
See y'all in class!
A bit later than I intended but better now than never.
Here are the VOA texts for today. Both groups are in the same document.
Here is a poem I may be reading today (or will soon in the future).
See y'all in class!
This week we will continue with the VOA texts. Some people have still not posted their text.
I will collect them until 9.00 on March 14 and then post them for class.
We will also discuss the poetry readings and a bit about the final (not too too horrible).
See y'all in class!
Below the jump (click where it says 'Czytaj więcej' or 'Read more') you will find the link for posting your assignments.
Here is a baker’s dozen of American poets with links to some of their works and to their Wikipedia biographies.
There’s a lot of variety from the early 19th to the late 20th century with male and female, black and white poets who write in a variety of modern and traditional forms.
You can choose an entire poem (that takes at least 60 seconds to recite and normal speed, which is a bit slower than normal speech about like the VOA texts).
You can also choose two or more short poems with a total time of at least 60 seconds. If you choose more than poem they can be from the same or different poets.
You can also choose from poets not listed here but you should clear that with the instructor.
You may also choose song lyrics as a poem but these would require editing (and again should be cleared with the instructor).
Happy Hunting!

UPDATE: Here are the texts for group 1.
UPDATE: Here are the texts for group 2.
Again, if you did not post your text in time, you should have copies for the class (about 20).
This week we will be practicing your VOA texts in class.
I can't help but notice that not everyone has posted their VOA text into the google docs page (link below). So far only 5 people from group 1 and 12 from group 2 have posted their texts.
To give people more time I will give you until tomorrow (Thursday) morning at 9.00 to post your text at which point I'll post links to the documents for each group.
If you do not post your text into the google docs page then you should print copies for the other people in your group (about 20 copies).
The link to the google docs page is below the jump (click where it says 'Czytaj więcej' or 'Read more').
